We had a taste of Chinese New year with Sophia and her Mummy, who read us the story about significance of Lunar new year followed by lovely treats. Sophia made this lovely card for us with two rabbits. We learned about Nian, the scary beast who used to attack and terrorize everyone. People found a way to scare him away with red coloured lanterns, noisy firecrackers , the lion and the dragon.
We made our own 94b Dragon who danced to the jingling of bells and symbols.It was fun as dragon marched down the hall all the way to Mrs. Belfry's office to the ringing of bells
We received a gift of red envelop with a sweet for good luck for the new year. We would like to Thank Ms. Queenie and Sophia for celebrating and sharing this tradition and bringing in so much cheer and joy!!!
